This rare video clip shows both Holly & Baxter off-lead without either of them being muzzled. This is unfortunately the only footage of them 2 together.
But I have treasured memories of them which were never captured on film.
June 2010
Baxter, Ronnie, Storm, Skye & Titch were all invited to “The Reunion Four Week Course” due to start in the Autumn.
These 5 dogs were on the first PDS course. Baxter, I am sure, was ready for this & we were all looking forward to us & our dogs getting back together again. The start date had to be re-arranged for the the New Year 2011.
August 2010
I had arranged to go & stay with friends in Cyprus for the last 2 weeks at the end of August. They had recently taken on a rescue Jack Russell cross, called Jack & I agreed to take care of him while they attended a family wedding in Pafos for a couple of days. He was a lovely little dog & enjoyed just laying on the lilo in the pool, once he got his confidence to get on it.
During my last week away Baxter seemed unsettled, my Dad had kept a note of how Baxter had been over the last week.
Previous week end, off colour, not eating, stayed outside most of the night (Mum was up with him) drinking ok
Monday not well; tried him on a spoon of pro-biotic yogurt. Later a little bit of steamed chicken, was sick later everything brought up. Mum & Dad stayed down stairs with him all night.
Tuesday Not drinking at all now, took to “out of hours emergency vet”: tests etc & told to contact his vet (painful tummy). X-rays & blood test for Pancreaitis etc. Results phoned through pm that day; Liver ok, temp ok, all tests ok, spleen slight enlarged could be usual for his age or size not enough to be abnormal. Pancreaitis sample result not back until Thursday, increase in white blood cells - not unusual with an infection. Antibiotics injection given.
Thursday Result on pancreas ok. Antibiotic tablets until Monday, as long as he is improving. Baxter gradually eating more & drinking well, improving all the time.
Early Sunday morning (after arriving home late the night before from Cyprus) I received a phone call from my Mum saying that Baxter wasn’t well & that I should come over.
When I got to Mum & Dad’s, Baxter seemed lethargic. I decided to bring him back home & to assess his condition. Click here to continue to next page
